Safety Measures & Precautions

The health and safety of our associates and guests is a top priority. As the COVID-19 situation continues to evolve, we are actively monitoring guidance provided by public health officials, and we want to assure our visitors that additional sanitary measures are in place to maintain a healthy environment and limit the spread of germs. In addition to our regular and very thorough cleaning procedures, we are currently taking extra precautions, including:

  • Housekeeping is using EcoLab Peroxide Cleaner and Disinfectant Spray on all surfaces that guests or employees might touch in common areas, including the front desk, guest elevators, lobby restrooms, stairwell handrails and more.
  • Inside guest rooms, we are using EcoLab Peroxide Cleaner and Disinfectant Spray and always change to new, clean rags between rooms.
  • All high touch surfaces are being cleaned and disinfected several times throughout the day in guest corridors.
  • Guest check-in reception area is being cleaned every 30 minutes including all counters, pens, phones, and PIN pads.

We look forward to the opportunity to welcome you soon!

The World of Winter

Baby, it's cold outside - shall we go out on an adventure? Downtown Grand Rapids is hosting the 2nd annual 'World of Winter' to encourage people to experience the winter season in full, chilly blast before spring is upon us. World of Winter begins on Valentine's Day (Thursday, February 14th) with ice sculptures, yoga in the snow, skating on the outdoor ice rinks and a chilly outdoor bar.

The magic of Valent-ice, or the creation and implementation of over 50 ice sculptures, will begin on Friday, February 15th at 4am by the skilled team at Ice Guru. Our hotel will showcase the largest ice sculpture in the city - spanning 10 feet long on our front lawn! Check out our Facebook and Instagram pages as we capture the sculpture creation live. In addition, turn your television on to WZZM and Fox News 17 to hear live discussion regarding the city's ice status from Ice Guru's owners Randy Finch and Derek Maxfield.

As you gaze at ice sculptures, outdoor activities including snowshoeing at Ah-Nab-Awen Park, concerts and food trucks at the Rosa Parks Circle ice rink, "snowga", ice sculpture walking tours and a friendly game of Human Hungry, Hungry Hippos will occur at various times from Thursday - Sunday. If you are interested in the food and beverage scene, head to the Downtown Market for the outdoor Ice Bar or check out the various restaurants and bars participating in Experience Grand Rapids' Beer Month - starting Friday, February 15th. A full list of activities can be found on Downtown Grand Rapids website.

We hope to see you check in with us upon viewing the ice sculptures. Stay chilly!
