Safety Measures & Precautions

The health and safety of our associates and guests is a top priority. As the COVID-19 situation continues to evolve, we are actively monitoring guidance provided by public health officials, and we want to assure our visitors that additional sanitary measures are in place to maintain a healthy environment and limit the spread of germs. In addition to our regular and very thorough cleaning procedures, we are currently taking extra precautions, including:

  • Housekeeping is using EcoLab Peroxide Cleaner and Disinfectant Spray on all surfaces that guests or employees might touch in common areas, including the front desk, guest elevators, lobby restrooms, stairwell handrails and more.
  • Inside guest rooms, we are using EcoLab Peroxide Cleaner and Disinfectant Spray and always change to new, clean rags between rooms.
  • All high touch surfaces are being cleaned and disinfected several times throughout the day in guest corridors.
  • Guest check-in reception area is being cleaned every 30 minutes including all counters, pens, phones, and PIN pads.

We look forward to the opportunity to welcome you soon!

Getting Outdoors in Grand Rapids This Holiday Season

While COVID -19 may have restricted us from doing some of our favorite holiday things, one thing is for certain: getting outdoors is NOT canceled! West  Michigan is filled with many outdoor attractions that are sure to get you in the festive spirit this holiday season. Here, we'll discuss some of our favorite safe and socially distant winter activities you can find right here in Grand Rapids.

Holiday Light Displays

It's no secret that the holiday lights display in Downtown Grand Rapids is among the best in West Michigan. Grab your household family members and drive through the amazing lights along popular routes like Pearl Street, Wealthy Street, and more! Fifth Third Ballpark will also be partaking in the holiday magic with their Christmas Lite Show Drive-Through which allows people to safely social distance within their own vehicle.

The BYOB holiday lights trolly is also an option for the adults in the family, but just be aware that nobody outside of your "pod" of safe and protected people should gather. Trolly's are also regularly sanitized between groups and require screenings before entering the bus to ensure all parties are safe and healthy. PH Credit: Nic Antaya

Virtual exercises are an easy and socially distant way to stay in shape this holiday season! If you're ready to take your fitness to the next level and get outdoors this December, consider participating in the Run Run Rudolph Virtual 5K! Participate at your own pace and while we can't meet up in person, the Christmas spirit will always live on. Join up with your kids, friends or neighbors outdoors and continue on this wonderful tradition.

This is a fun and healthy way to get into festive while also exploring downtown Grand Rapids.  You can register for this race here.

Hiking and Other Recreational Activities

Luckily most all of West Michigan recreational activities are able to stay open and safe during the COVID-19 crisis. Once the snow hits, consider heading to the Blandford Nature Center or the local area parks to enjoy some hiking and beautiful scenic views. If you're looking to get sporty, head over to Cannonsburg Ski Area and tackle over 21 downhill runs. Tubing Lanes and Winter Biking are also available for the entire family to enjoy. While in person dining at the Ski Area may be closed, you can still get takeout to enjoy after your runs on the beautiful snowy hills.
