Okay, so maybe not everyone is ready to say goodbye to winter. Or maybe you’d like to see it go out with a bang. Either way, you’re in luck: the World of Winter Festival continues through March 5th this year. Affinity is the name for an immersive interactive installation featured in the festival inspired by the human brain. The installation combines light, sound, and colors to create a truly unique experience. The alternative rock group Blue October has been jamming out since 1995, and there’s no sign of them stopping any time soon. To celebrate their impressive eleventh studio album Spinning the Truth Around, they’re going on tour with their sights set on Grand Rapids. Laughter is the best medicine, and no organization believes that more than Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids. That’s why they’re bringing back Gilda’s LaughFest to Grand Rapids for the 13th year. The festival features improv, variety shows, and stand-up. And it’s all for a good cause; the festival highlights Gilda’s Club’s unique grief and cancer emotional health support programs. And the proceeds go to the organization to empower and lift up others and help them navigate challenging emotions.
