World of Winter Festival (March 1st)
Okay, so maybe not everyone is ready to say goodbye to winter. Or maybe you’d like to see it go out with a bang. Either way, you’re in luck: the World of Winter Festival continues through March 5th this year. Affinity is the name for an immersive interactive installation featured in the festival inspired by the human brain. The installation combines light, sound, and colors to create a truly unique experience. You can check it out for yourself from 8 am to 11 pm on March 1st through the 5th, and admission is free - a perfect way to celebrate the beautiful Michigan weather one last time. Blue October - Spinning the Truth Around Tour (March 5th)
The alternative rock group Blue October has been jamming out since 1995, and there’s no sign of them stopping any time soon. To celebrate their impressive eleventh studio album Spinning the Truth Around, they’re going on tour with their sights set on Grand Rapids. If you’re an alt-rock or Blue October fan, this is a concert you won’t want to miss. The show is one night only at GLC Live at 20 Monroe and starts at 8 pm, with tickets starting at $80. LaughFest 2023 (March 8th)
Laughter is the best medicine, and no organization believes that more than Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids. That’s why they’re bringing back Gilda’s LaughFest to Grand Rapids for the 13th year. The festival features improv, variety shows, and stand-up. And it’s all for a good cause; the festival highlights Gilda’s Club’s unique grief and cancer emotional health support programs. And the proceeds go to the organization to empower and lift up others and help them navigate challenging emotions. Stomp (March 17th)
Stomp is unapologetically about one thing: making a lot of noise. But it’s curated, fascinating, unique noise that’s fun and exciting for any age to experience. This percussion group is lauded with an impressive number of awards and reviews for using some of the most unconventional materials to make a one-of-a-kind show. Expect the musicians to use things like hubcaps, garbage cans, and wooden poles to create a delightful cacophony of rhythms and sounds that are so interesting you can’t help but leave feeling inspired. The Price is Right Live (March 28th)
Everyone’s favorite game show is coming to Grand Rapids! It’s the show where eligible audience members can test their mettle and play some of the most iconic games in television history!
