Grilled Thai Chicken Wings

Thai Chicken Wings

Say goodbye to those boring traditional buffalo wings and say hello to grilled Thai chicken wings! When you can't make it into Burger Theory in Downtown Grand Rapids for our flavorful wing options on game night, this recipe can be done easily on the grill at home and will be enjoyed by everyone this summer.

You will need:

  • 2 Scallions, sliced
  • 1 to 2 Tablespoons of Chili Paste
  • 1 Tablespoon Lime Juice
  • 1 cup Sweet Chili Sauce
  • 4 Tablespoons Soy Sauce
  • 2 Tablespoons Fish Sauce
  • 1 Tablespoon of Grated Ginger
  • 3 Garlic Cloves, minced
  • 2 Tablespoons Brown Sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons Chopped Cilantro

How To:

  1. Start by cutting the wings up at the joint to separate the drumette portions. Set aside.
  2. Combine all other ingredients in a medium mixing bowl. Mix well.
  3. Put the wings in a large plastic bag. Pour all of the liquid mixtures (except for ¼ cup set aside) into the plastic bag as well. Seal the bag well and let the mixture marinade on the chicken wings for at least 4 to 6 hours, or overnight if you prefer.
  4. Preheat your grill to medium heat or about 350 Degrees. Place the wings on the grill and begin basting liberally. Turn and coat with more marinade. Cook for another to 20 to 30 minutes, or until the internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
  5. Garnish with chopped scallion greens and begin enjoying these delicious wings!

 Grilled Apples With Ice Cream

Grilled Apple Dish

It's no secret that Grand Rapids is home to many beautiful and easily accessible farmers' markets! After you've picked up some delicious local produce, consider adding your own spin to the Burger Theory Mason Jar treats at home. This unique dessert is simple and classic and can be a perfectly sweet ending to a grilling party or barbeque. Plus you can source almost all of the ingredients locally! An added bonus: this recipe has very few ingredients!

You will need:

  • 4 Apples
  • Cup of Chopped Pecans
  • ½ of Caramel
  • 2 Tablespoons of Melted Butter
  • 1 Tablespoon Cinnamon Sugar

Note: You can top with vanilla ice cream for a classic combination! This is optional. You will also need aluminum foil.

  3. In a small mixing bowl, mix up the melted butter and the cinnamon sugar. Mix well.
  4. Brush this butter mixture over the apples. Fill the center with caramel and pecans.
  5. Wrap the apples in aluminum foil and grill until tender, or about 15 minutes.
  6. If you're feeling extra fancy, top with vanilla ice cream and enjoy! You can also drizzle with additional caramel sauce for a final touch.
