The wait for summer is over. June is here with its warmer days full of festivals and fun activities for all ages. Grand Rapids is the place to be for this summer's annual events and amazing concert list. Take a look at a few things going on in Grand Rapids this month.
Looking for something to do? Visit the annual Festival of the Arts during the 3-day celebration held downtown Grand Rapids. The festival features street performances and visual arts. You won't leave this festival hungry with all of the savory food vendors. Visit the website for a complete list of performances and vendors.
Food Truck Fridays are back and better than ever. Come hungry and ready to eat local at the GR8 Food truck from 5p-9p at Riverside Park. Enjoy a night out with your neighbors in the park.
Our favorite kids are back in town. New Kids on the Block announce their MixTape Tour 2022 coming to the Van Andel Arena on Thursday, June 16 at 7:30pm. The party doesn’t stop here. Special guests Salt-N-Pepa, Rick Astley, and En Vogue will bring the party.
The MixTape Tour 2022 is a night that you don't want to miss where the family can hear chart-topping hits and legendary catalogs spanning generations all night long. The mixtape tour lineup is stacked, and it's a mash of everyone's hit songs, with no openers, just an epic night out.
Who’s your Granny? Each year at the Beat the Grandma 5k, an actual Grandma has won the race all but one year. This year, we look forward to seeing all the different Grandma costumes worn by those brave runners that dare compete. This run is just as fun to watch as it is to participate. Each year, the fake Grandmas hope to run down the real Grandmas due to the handicap head start lead that all women and older Grandpas get. This race is open to all runners. However, if you are a guy, you start behind the ladies and try to catch them. It is a unique and fun event, so come on out and see if you can Beat the Grandma!
StorytimeGR is committed to supporting the community.
