Kayaking adventures might have started in May, but this is the perfect addition for any June itinerary. GR outside provides all the equipment and instruction needed to go paddling down the river. What’s Independence Day without a parade? Grand Rapids’ Annual 4th of July Parade will start at 9:30 am. The parade route begins at the intersection of Northville and Plainfield, continuing on to Leelanau and ending at Northville Park with a raising of the flag. Enjoy floats from organizations around Grand Rapids. Once again, kids can join in on their decorated bikes with parental supervision.

On July 30, head to the Grand Rapids Children’s Museum for the 6th annual Day of Play Celebration. The purpose of the Day of Play is to encourage children and families to play! This year’s Day of Play is from noon-4 pm and will include a closed street that brings the play to Rainbow Road! You’ll see crafts, animals, yard games, bubbles, and other interactive experiences, as well as free admission to the Children’s Museum!
